I am a third year Biomedical Sciences student at Oxford conducting my undergraduate research project in the William James lab. In this project I am looking at optimising a model of inflammation in Parkinson’s using IPSc-derived macrophages. This work is guided by Dr Sally Cowley, who I am helping to optimise the model of STING pathway activation, in the hope that this could tell us more about the significance of the pathway in inflammation seen in Parkinson’s disease.

My past research projects have involved study of platelet activation pathways in the Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences at the University of Birmingham. It was during these that I realised I want to pursue a career in research. I hope to go on to do a PhD in cancer immunotherapy, as my research interests lie both in immunology and oncology.
